Are you a Customer Service Representative who is looking to work for a non-profit organization? Are you a Customer Service Representative who can work well in a fast-paced environment?

Our client administers a federally funded low income assistance program. They offer a variety of specialized services provided locally.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As a Customer Service Representative, you will process applications and establish eligibility for energy assistance programs.

  • Answer client and vendor questions of program eligibility, benefit levels and form of payment
  • Verify or assist applicant in assembling verification documents
  • Review completed forms to ensure all information has been entered for data entry
  • Follow up on incomplete forms
  • File completed applications
  • Determine eligibility and then authorize payments
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 years of strong customer service experience
  • Experience working for a non-profit organization is preferred
  • Knowledge of utility and vendor business collections process is preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to energy assistance programs is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Basic skillset in MSWD and Excel
  • Comfortable utilizing the internet
  • Personable and good relationship building skills
  • Must have a passion for working with people and for the greater good of people
  • Ability to work and communicate with a wide demographic of applicants
  • Must be able to handle a stressful environment and adapt to change well
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Must take initiative and ask for more work as needed
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Strong work ethic
