Our client is a food distribution company that has been in business for almost 100 years.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As an Administrative / Office Assistant, you will be doing a variety of duties from answering phones to bookkeeping to administrative support work.

  • Answer phones, direct calls, take messages and run errands
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings and record/transcribe minutes
  • Makes travel arrangements
  • Complete work schedules, manage calendars and arrange appointments
  • Open and route incoming mail, answer correspondence and prepare outgoing mail
  • Compile copies, sort and file records of office activities, business transactions and other activities
  • Complete and mail bills, contracts, policies, invoices (possibly process) and checks
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, voice mail systems and personal computers
  • Type, format, proofread and edit correspondence, reports and other documents
  • Review file, record and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests
  • Compute, record and proofread data and other information
  • Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms and expense reports
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing and database systems
  • Communicate with customers, employees and others to answer questions; disseminate or explain information; take orders and address complaints
  • Train other staff members to perform work activities, such as using computer applications
  • Collect, count and disburse money
  • Perform basic bookkeeping and complete banking transactions
  • Troubleshoot problems involving office equipment

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Well-rounded office experience with strong people skills is highly preferred
  • Would consider a recent Accounting, Administrative Assistant, Business, etc. graduate
  • Strong numbers and math capability or even some accounting experience is a plus
  • Intermediate skillset in Excel and basic in MSWD
  • Any PowerPoint and/or QuickBooks experience is a plus
  • Energetic and personable
  • Strong phone skills
  • Must have strong detailed math and number skills
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Team player

Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm, office closes at 3:30pm on Friday

Length: Temporary to Hire
