WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As a Storeroom Analyst / Buyer, you will manage storeroom operations, mill buying and perform analytical tasks for the Procurement team.

  • Monitor contracts to ensure they meet contracted obligations
  • Manage assigned categories of spend
  • Help manage a key supplier performance management program, including score-carding and quarterly business reviews
  • Provide feedback of performance measures and collaborate with the vendors to create new measures to put in place
  • Retrieve data from a supply base system to validate data for accuracy
  • Analyze large data sets and purchasing patterns to accurately estimate savings opportunities
  • Benchmark spend data and purchasing patterns with other similar industries
  • Identify opportunities to establish contractual relationships with new sources of supply for products and services
  • Support category managers in preparation for supplier negotiation efforts
  • Coordinate supplier workshops as needed
  • Analyze spend patterns and buying habits to identify and onboard new suppliers in the catalog platform
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure changes to the electronic catalog are accurate
  • Supervise the activities of storeroom clerks, including directing work and providing training
  • Ensure proper storeroom stocking levels and coordinate repairs
  • Develop knowledge of materials used by the mill, research supplier capabilities, communicate with suppliers, analyze supplier financial performance information and check references
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production and corporate procurement to identify and direct purchase orders to supply vendors
  • Oversee creation of and changes to material numbers for goods and raw materials for inventory tracking and ordering
  • Provide backup to the mill procurement manager for raw material, outside service, machine clothing, packaging material and capital purchases and full department supervision
  • Analyze the different variables (consumption, lead time, cost, etc.)
  • Manage warehouse inventory levels of critical items
  • Coordinate and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production and planning to obsolete materials by disposal/outflow
  • Support Maintenance Planner to develop the annual maintenance forecast and the annual purchasing plan
  • Identify duplicate parts and their re-classification
  • Classify part and materials descriptions

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Supply chain/buyer experience working with and managing contracts and/or vendor relationships is highly preferred (3-6 years+ is ideal)
  • Would consider a recent or upcoming Bachelor or undergraduate degree in Business or related field with an internship
  • Knowledge of procurement methods including, MRP, MRPII, EOQ, Min/Max, KanBan, and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience within a manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business is a plus
  • Computer/tech savvy to learn new software quickly
  • MSWD and Excel skills
  • Experience using a CMMS software or another ERP system
  • Professional demeanor, friendly, personable and easygoing

  • Organized and deadline driven
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a very fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
